Plug-in AI in Claude and ChatGPT
Connect your Plug-in AI workspace to Claude or ChatGPT and ask for images, video and speech in your own words. The assistant works through your account: it sees what your seat can see, spends your workspace's credits only on work you approve, bills it to your clients and jobs, and can bring the results into After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator and DaVinci Resolve.
Connect
Server address
https://plug-in.ai/api/mcp
Nothing to install and no key to paste: you sign in with your Plug-in account.
Claude (Free, Pro and Max)
- Open Customize → Connectors, choose +, then Add custom connector.
- Name it Plug-in AI, paste the server address and press Add. Free plans can add one custom connector.
- Press Connect, sign in to Plug-in AI if asked, check the workspace and press Allow.
Claude (Team and Enterprise)
- An owner adds it once: Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web, with the server address.
- Each member presses Connect in Customize → Connectors and approves it with their own Plug-in account.
ChatGPT Work (where custom plugins are enabled)
- Open Plugins, choose + → Add custom MCP server, and enter the server address. Workspace policy may require an administrator to enable custom plugins.
- Choose OAuth, then Create as plugin and review the installation. When connecting, sign in on plug-in.ai and review the workspace and permissions before pressing Allow.
- Start a new conversation and mention the plugin with @. First ask for models or recent generations without creating work.
- Codex desktop Settings → MCP servers is a separate setup. Its bearer-token and header fields are not an OAuth sign-in form; use the server's Authenticate control when available. A saved URL alone does not prove a successful connection.
A first thing to ask: Show my recent Plug-in generations and my credit balance. Don't make anything new.
Signing in, and what you allow
Connect opens Plug-in AI's own page on plug-in.ai. It names the app that is asking, the workspace, your role and your credits, and nothing is shared until you press Allow. It asks for two permissions:
- See your workspace
mcp:read - Your models, clients, jobs, past generations and credit balance.
- Create images, video and audio
mcp:write - Start generations and make changes: add clients and jobs, and edit the project open in your apps. Generating spends credits from your workspace balance, exactly as it does when you do it yourself.
- The connection acts as you, in the workspace you approved it from. Your seat still decides: a client viewer can only look, whatever was allowed, and nothing lets an app do what you couldn't do yourself.
- Access tokens last one hour and renew themselves; the renewal token lasts up to sixty days and is replaced every time it is used. We store tokens only as one-way hashes, never as readable text.
- Disconnect whenever you like: remove the connector in Claude or ChatGPT, or press Disconnect in Account → Connections on plug-in.ai, which ends it straight away.
What it costs
- Generations spend your workspace's credits at the prices on the Models page. Looking, pricing, organising and working in your apps cost nothing.
- The assistant can price any generation first with estimate_cost, which is free and changes nothing.
- Tools that spend are marked destructive, so Claude and ChatGPT ask for your approval before they run, unless you choose to allow them without asking.
- Credits are held while a generation runs and taken only when its files are saved.
- Each approved generation carries one request id. If an answer is lost on the way, the assistant recovers the same generation with the same id instead of paying again, and a refused generation is never retried automatically.
- On company workspaces every generation is billed to a client and a job, and any budget set for that client is enforced.
- Credits are bought only on plug-in.ai, in Account → Plan & credits. Nothing is sold inside Claude or ChatGPT.
Tools185
This list is read from the server itself, so it is always the current one. Every tool has a title and is marked read-only or not, destructive or not: that is how Claude and ChatGPT decide when to ask you first.
What you see depends on your seat: a client viewer gets a few look-only tools for their own work; creators get the rest, and admins also the team tools. The tools under Plug-in's own team are never offered to a workspace.

Your creative apps
- Install the Plug-in panel for Adobe apps or DaVinci Resolve, the Photoshop plugin (Photoshop 2025 or later), or the Blender add-on, from Account → Connections on plug-in.ai. Each one signs in with your Plug-in account: the app shows a code, you check the same code on plug-in.ai/connect and press Allow.
- With a panel open in After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator or DaVinci Resolve, the assistant can edit that project with the app tools and import your generations with app_import. Scripts run only if you allow them in that app's panel.
- The panels can also generate inside the app, with the price on the button before you press it.
Privacy and your data
- The assistant decides what to send, from what you ask it. Apart from ordinary request logs, we receive only the inputs of the tools it calls: prompts, settings, the reference files you choose, and client and job names.
- We never receive your conversation, your chat history or the assistant's memory. No tool asks for them, or for passwords, keys or payment details.
- Pictures the assistant takes of your open project pass straight through to it; we don't keep them. Your generations are kept in your workspace library, like work made on the website.
- AI model providers receive only what a generation needs to run. We don't sell personal data, and we don't use your prompts or generated content to train our own models.
The full details are in the Privacy Policy; use of Plug-in AI is covered by the Terms of Service.
